About the Role:
As Foreperson, you will mentor and oversee the workshop team to ensure apprentices receive the opportunities and support to develop their skills, technicians have everything they need to work effectively, and you will optimize workshop space and resources to meet customer needs. You will collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure seamless field and workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assists in assigning jobs and work areas to Service Department employees based on their skills and knowledge.
* Reviews repair orders coming into the Service Department for accuracy and completeness.
* Directs and assists in diagnosing machine problems with technicians and apprentices.
* Inspects and repairs special tools, recommending new tooling as required.
* Notifies the Service Manager or Service Location Manager of all customer complaints.
* Coordinates and schedules technician training.
* Assists in conducting quarterly safety meetings.
* May assume the Service Manager or Service Location Manager role in their absence.
* Maintains used equipment, sets up new equipment, and approves its release for delivery.
* Provides performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service Manager or Service Location Manager.

* 3+ years' experience as a Service Technician.
* Prior leadership experience.
* Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products.
* Excellent communication and technical skills.
* High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
* Forklift license preferred.
