This is a Full-Time/Part Time/Casual opportunity based in Port Hedland, WA within our Pilbara Services Team.
The position reports to the Coordinator, Pilbara Services.
About the role
This position is a 24/7 service and requires employees to be available for day, afternoon, active night, sleepover, weekend and public holiday shifts.
The Family Support Worker will establish and maintain positive relationships with the key stakeholders relevant to the program, provide support with budgeting, cleaning, home maintenance, hygiene practices, meal planning and shopping and cooking, be available to support families early in the morning and after hours, as required, ensure that they monitor and regularly review progress against case planning goals, ensure attunement to, and awareness of the requirements of culturally appropriate practice and maintain case records and the computerised client data base in accordance with program procedures.
Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role, the incumbent will have:
Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people and their families
Knowledge of the impact of trauma and vulnerability in women and children who have experienced family violence.
Demonstrated ability in working as part of a team.
Knowledge of vulnerable children, young people and families, including an understanding of the impact of trauma, attachment and child development.
Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively and with the capacity to liaise with other agencies and the community.

You must have a:
Valid and current Driver's Licence;
Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
Valid and current NDIS Workers Screening Check (for risk assessed / client facing roles).
