About the role

In this role you’ll play a critical role in shaping and amplifying the public narrative of tennis in Queensland and the Brisbane International. Working closely with the Tennis Queensland CEO and the Tennis Australia Group Publicity Manager, this role is responsible for developing and executing integrated communication strategies that enhance the reputation, visibility, and impact of tennis in Queensland.

With a strong emphasis on strategic storytelling, this position leads communications, supports stakeholder engagement across media and government, and ensures consistent, high-quality messaging across all platforms.

In this role you will:

* Develop and drive proactive communications programs to tell the story of tennis, the tennis community and its impact in Queensland.
* Deliver strategic communications advice to CEO and internal leaders on issues, challenges and opportunities.
* Drive the creation and execution of strategic internal communication campaigns to engage staff, partners and wider tennis community stakeholders.
* Develop and manage a strategic communications approach leading into the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
* Develop and manage an integrated public relations timeline and strategies to drive awareness of the Brisbane International in Queensland and internationally.
* Work with Media Services to ensure all media operational elements are in place for the Brisbane International.

About you

To be successful in this role you will:

* Experience leading internal and external communication strategies
* Proven ability to recognise a good story and place it with the appropriate media
* Calm, confident decision-making in high-pressure or live event scenarios
* Strong collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across varied teams
* Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to tone, clarity and brand consistency
* Familiarity with new media, influencers and content creators
* Major Events experience
* Team management during peak event periods, combining leadership with hands-on delivery throughout the year
* Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
* Preparedness to be flexible in regard to working hours and arrangements relating to work associated with Tennis QLD
