Job Title: Support Practitioner - Quality of Life Specialist
This role involves working with clients who have complex needs and challenging behaviors to develop and implement behaviour support plans that improve their quality of life.
We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as a Behaviour Support Practitioner. The ideal candidate will have experience in the disability field, particularly in working with clients who have significant complex support needs.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct specialist assessment and intervention services including functional behaviour assessment, writing and development of behaviour support plans and discipline-specific assessments and interventions.
* Deliver funded specialist services for capacity building under NDIS plans to internal and external clients.
* Provide clinical services that include behaviour support, development of comprehensive behaviour support plans, and therapeutic interventions relevant to the client and their support network.
* Engage with clients to develop effective clinical intervention and therapeutic treatments based on quality assessment and evidence-based practice standards.
* Conduct functional behavioural assessments.
* Complete detailed reporting adhering to the NDIS reporting framework.
* Train and support staff to develop and implement positive behaviour support strategies in the area of expertise.
Requirements:
* Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in Psychology with current general registration with AHPRA.
* Minimum 2 years of experience in the disability field with clients who have significant complex support needs.
* Experience with Allied Health professionals encouraged to apply (Psychologist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Social Workers).
* Knowledge of a broad range of psychological issues and effective treatment modalities.
* Excellent communication and time management skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work in a changing environment to collaborate with peers and achieve results.
