About the Role
We are seeking a Health and Safety Specialist to join our team and support leaders in building and sustaining a world-class safety culture.
You will be responsible for partnering with leaders to implement and continuously improve health and safety processes, including risk assessments, audits, inspections, hazard reporting, accident/incident investigations, work access permits, and behavioural safety observations.
* Conducting and supporting safety meetings, site inspections, and other activities to reinforce safety standards.
* Supporting managers to ensure employees and contractors comply with our Safety and Health Management System and relevant legislation.
* Contributing to high-level safety investigations by reviewing reports and ensuring robust corrective and preventative actions are identified and implemented.
The successful candidate will have:
Essential Requirements
* A minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role.
* A Certificate IV in Occupational/Workplace Health and Safety.
* Previous leadership experience and ability to manage a direct report.
* Formal Incident Investigation qualifications.
* Risk assessment facilitation skills.
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Attributes
* Knowledge of occupational health and hygiene principles.
* Mental health awareness training.
* Additional ICAM investigation experience.
