Join the team delivering the infrastructure that moves our community forward
Central Highlands Regional Council is seeking a motivated and experienced
Project Engineer
to play a pivotal role in the delivery and assurance of high-quality civil infrastructure projects across our diverse and growing region.

In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with quality standards, leading non-conformance investigations, and overseeing the delivery of construction projects from the ground up. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers to ensure that our roads and infrastructure projects not only meet but exceed industry standards and community expectations.

In this busy role, your will support the organisation by:

* Drive quality outcomes across Council's construction portfolio by developing and reviewing Project Quality Plans, ITPs and lot registers.
* Manage and investigate non-conformance reporting, identifying root causes and implementing preventative actions.
* Apply your expertise in civil construction practices and contract administration to support and lead projects.
* Provide technical support and coordination across multiple construction teams and stakeholders.
* Take ownership of your own project delivery, from planning to completion.
* Travel throughout the Central Highlands region with flexibility to camp at remote work sites when required.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to possess:

* Civil Engineering / Construction Management Qualification recognised by Engineers Australia Accredited Program
* White Card (or ability to obtain)
* A current C Class driver's licence and willingness to travel.
* Demonstrated experience in road construction, quality assurance, and contract administration.
* Knowledge of road construction plant and equipment operations, specifications, and limitations.
* Solid understanding of AS4000, Transport Infrastructure Contracts, and ISO standards.
* Strong communication and coordination skills with a focus on collaboration.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and civil project management tools (CivilPro knowledge desirable).
