Nurse Practitioner (Full-Time) – Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health & Community Services (Winnunga AHCS) is Canberra’s only Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service. Located in the heart of Canberra, we deliver trusted, holistic healthcare to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across the ACT and surrounding regions.
We are currently seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our growing clinical team. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact and contribute to closing the gap in health outcomes for First Nations communities.
At Winnunga AHCS, you’ll work in a supportive multidisciplinary environment alongside GPs, Nurse Practitioners, visiting specialists, nurses, allied health professionals, and a dedicated social health and administrative support team. You’ll deliver a broad range of general practice and primary health care services tailored to the needs of the community.
As a Nurse Practitioner, you will provide advanced, person-centred clinical care including diagnosis and management of acute and chronic health conditions, prescribing medications, ordering diagnostic tests, and delivering preventative care and health education. You will work closely with our care team to ensure high-quality, culturally safe services.
To be successful in this role, you will:
•Hold current AHPRA registration as a Nurse Practitioner
•Have experience in primary health or a community-based setting
•Be passionate about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
•Demonstrate strong clinical, communication, and collaboration skills
