Position Summary
The Bookkeeper at Dream Admin Services is responsible for managing clients' bookkeeping tasks as assigned by the management team. This role demands a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure the completeness and correctness of financial records. The ideal candidate will maintain productivity standards while delivering meticulous bookkeeping services, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the team.
Key Requirements
Solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
High level data entry skills and attention to detail.
Extensive experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, MYOB.
Sound computer literacy, i.e., ability to navigate around a computer and access email, internet programs.
Good communication skills, both written and oral.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Firm understanding of the payroll processes and Australian payroll law.
Experience with financial reporting.
Willingness to comply with all policies and procedures of the company.
Upholding integrity, ethics, trustworthiness and compliance in line with the Tax Agent Services Act (TASA) Code of Professional Conduct.
Job Responsibilities
Support the Managing Director and Practice Manager as required.
Perform data entry for bank accounts, invoices, receipts, bills, and payments.
Process invoices and receipts using Dext.
Use Practice Management software for workflow and task management.
Manage payroll processing and compliance.
Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts.
Reconcile key general ledger accounts.
Identify and report unusual or inconsistent transactions.
Liaise with clients to resolve queries.
Review draft accounts and verify balance sheet items.
Analyse profit and loss statements and ledger accounts.
Prepare reconciliations for GST and payroll accounts.
Research GST and compliance issues.
Prepare financial reports and working papers.
Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and (IAS) as required.
Liaise with the ATO and other statutory bodies.
Provide cash flow interpretations when needed.
Attend and contribute to client meetings.
Maintain and update client manuals, checklists, and process documentation.
Complete timesheets and other administrative tasks as directed.
Ensure client accounts are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned.
Leadership and Teamwork
Work as an effective member of the Dream Admin Services team, thereby providing support and assistance to co-workers within the team.
Associated Duties
Provide general administrative support and clerical duties.
Assist Dream Admin Service team with office deadlines and general workflow.
Assist with various projects as required.
Cooperate with all workplace health and safety and emergency procedures and take all responsible care for their own and others health and safety.
Attend internal and external meetings as required.
Flexibility to work remotely and from various domestic locations as they may arise for both internal and external stakeholders.
