About the role
Beerwah Dental is seeking an Experienced Dental Assistant to join our friendly and professional team in Beerwah, Queensland to replace a lovely Dental Assistant who is relocating. This is a full-time position based at our Beerwah QLD 4519 location. As an Experienced Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our dental practitioners and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. You will be at the heart of patient care delivery, assisting with clinical procedures, managing patient interactions, and maintaining the high standards of hygiene and professionalism that our practice is known for. This role is integral to the success of our clinic and directly impacts the patient experience and clinical outcomes.
Key responsibilities
* Assisting dentists during clinical procedures, including restorative, surgical, and preventative treatments
* Preparing treatment rooms and sterilising dental instruments according to infection control protocols
* Managing patient records and maintaining accurate clinical documentation
* Taking and processing intraoral and extraoral radiographs
* Providing chairside support and ensuring patient comfort throughout procedures
* Educating patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
* Managing appointment scheduling and patient flow within the clinic
* Assisting with reception duties, including welcoming patients and processing payments
* Maintaining inventory of dental materials and supplies
* Adhering to all infection control and workplace health and safety regulations
What we're looking for
* Formal qualifications in dental assistance or equivalent experience in a dental clinical environment
* Demonstrated experience working as a dental assistant in a busy dental practice
* Strong knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and clinical protocols
* Proficiency in dental software systems and patient management systems
* Excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to patient care
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
* Current or ability to obtain registration with the Dental Board of Australia (if required in your state)
* A valid Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills with a professional, friendly demeanour
* Flexibility and adaptability to support the evolving needs of the practice
