Senior Legal Counsel - Infrastructure - Project Delivery

About the role
Pinsent Masons Vario is supporting a tier 1 contractor seeking an experience construction lawyer (front-end predominantly) to join its well respected in‐house legal team on a flexible contract basis in North Sydney.
The role:
* Assist the delivery teams with all upstream and downstream matters, including claims, disputes and day to day project delivery legal advice.
* Work closely with and supporting the delivery teams, including commercial, procurement and construction.
* Draft, review and negotiate critical agreements with consultants, suppliers and subcontractors, as required.
* Provide commercially focused solutions and identifying risks from a legal perspective.
* Monitor (and where appropriate, advising on) relevant laws and regulations.
* Manage and work with external legal service providers as required.
* From time to time, mentor and oversee the work of Legal Counsels and Legal secondees working on the projects.
You'll work closely with senior stakeholders in a driven, collaborative legal team, providing commercially focused advice across legal, procurement and delivery units.
About you
* 8y+ PQE, Australian‐qualified
* Strong experience in structured finance and debt / equity capital markets
* Commercial, delivery‐oriented and comfortable operating autonomously
