Our client, a reputable and long-standing law firm in Bendigo, are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper to join their team. Our client is willing to consider both part-time (approximately 30 hours per week) or a full-time arrangement.
This role is integral to ensuring the smooth financial operations of the firm, covering payroll, trust account management, taxation compliance and general administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:
Payroll
* Process weekly payroll in MYOB, including superannuation and online staff payments.
* Prepare and issue annual payment summaries in line with ATO requirements.
Accounts Payable
* Verify and enter supplier invoices in MYOB, ensuring compliance with tax laws.
* Process payments via online banking within supplier terms.
Accounts Receivable
* Manage client billing in accordance with firm trading terms.
* Follow up on overdue payments to maintain cash flow.
Trust Account Management
* Process trust receipts, perform daily reconciliations, and complete monthly reporting.
* Assist with annual trust audits and issue client trust statements.
Bank Account Management
* Monitor account balances and manage cash flow across multiple accounts.
* Conduct weekly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
Taxation Compliance
* Prepare and lodge PAYG and BAS through MYOB by ATO deadlines.
* Ensure timely payment of all tax obligations.
Administrative Support
* Provide backup to the Customer Service Officer as required.
* Assist with general administrative tasks across the firm.
General Duties
* Maintain accurate and confidential records in the client management system and OneDrive, always ensuring a high level of data security and discretion.
* Undertake other duties as directed, aligned with the role, including reception relief when required.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
* Proven experience in a similar finance or administration position.
* Proficiency with MYOB and online banking systems.
* Strong understanding of payroll, superannuation, GST, PAYG, and trust account management.
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
* High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* If successful, you must be willing to obtain a National Police Check
