As we continue our growth journey, we are seeking an experienced and driven Store Manager to lead our store operations, elevate our premium customer experience, and play a key role in shaping the future of the Barrel & Batch brand.

The Role
As Store Manager, you will oversee all daily operations while cultivating a premium brand experience that seamlessly integrates business performance with expert product knowledge. You will play a pivotal role in driving sales, developing a loyal customer base, and positioning Barrel & Batch as a destination for serious wine and whisky buyers.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
* Oversee daily store operations including opening/closing procedures, cash handling, and store security
* Maintain premium presentation standards across the store
* Ensure a seamless, high-end customer experience at every touchpoint
Inventory & Product Curation
* Collaborate with buyers to curate a diverse and compelling wine and whisky selection
* Manage ordering, stock control, and stocktaking
* Coordinate with distributors to secure rare, limited, and allocated releases
Team Leadership
* Recruit, train, and mentor a knowledgeable and service-driven team
* Develop staff product expertise to ensure confident, informed recommendations
* Foster a culture of professionalism and accountability
Customer & Relationship Management
* Build and nurture long-term relationships with VIP customers and collectors
* Provide personalised procurement and cellar-stocking advice
* Develop and grow a loyalty database with regular email and SMS communications
Events & Marketing
* Plan and host in-store tastings, workshops, and educational events
* Implement visual merchandising strategies aligned with premium positioning
* Drive community engagement and repeat visitation
Compliance
* Ensure strict adherence to local liquor licensing laws
* Enforce RSA protocols and age verification standards
About You
* 3–7 years' experience in retail management, ideally within luxury retail, fine wine, or hospitality
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse sales data, manage wage budgets, and achieve growth targets
* Advanced knowledge of global wine regions, vintages, and production methods
* WSET Level 2, 3, or Diploma highly regarded
* Proficient in POS systems (e.g., Shopfront or Lightspeed), inventory software, and Microsoft Excel
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
* Comfortable working weekends and peak trading periods
