Nepean Longwall is seeking an experienced Gearbox & Hydraulic Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in Paget, Mackay. This role is key to ensuring the smooth operation of longwall equipment through expert management of gearbox and hydraulic systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate workshop maintenance activities focused on gearboxes and hydraulic systems
* Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of tradespeople and apprentices
* Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards
* Manage inventory of parts, tools, and hydraulic fluids
* Liaise with operations and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues efficiently
Skills & Experience Required
* Trade qualification or equivalent in mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems
* Proven experience with gearboxes and hydraulic systems in a mining or heavy industrial environment
* Previous supervisory or leadership experience
* Strong knowledge of WHS requirements and safe work practices
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team management skills
