We are seeking a skilled Health Information Specialist to join our team. This role involves providing high-level assistance and support to the operational management of Health Information services, encompassing records management, release of information, clinical forms management, and activity reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

* Undertake routine audits for key functional areas, including clinical forms, medical records management, documentation, and release of information in line with accreditation standards.
">
* Develop and review procedure manuals, policies, and implement changes where required in consultation with the manager.
">
* Assist in the implementation of SDPR for Calvary Mater Newcastle and archival strategies.
">
* Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams in overseeing correction of non-admitted patient data in accurately capturing non-admitted patient activity.
">
* Train staff in key functional areas where required.
">

Required Skills and Qualifications:
">
To be successful in this role, you will require:
">

* Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management and/or Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) and/or Health Service Management and/or Public Health or equivalent.
">
* Technical and analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data and report on trends.
">
* Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
">
* Experience working with electronic and paper-based health records systems, patient administration systems, and documenting related procedures.
">
* Ability to engage and work with a range of stakeholders, including administration staff, nursing, and medical specialists.
