About the team
The City of Gold Coast is undergoing a significant digital and technology transformation, bringing critical IT and spatial services in-house to strengthen capability, resilience, and innovation.
The GIS Services Team sits at the centre of this transformation, responsible for the reliability, security, and evolution of Council's enterprise geospatial platform. We manage ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, automation platforms such as FME, and integrations with core business systems.
As part of our continued growth, we are expanding the team with a Geospatial Platform Administrator to administer and enhance Council's ArcGIS Enterprise environment.
About the role
As a Geospatial Platform Administrator, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day operation, platform administration, and continuous improvement of Council's ArcGIS Enterprise platform and associated geospatial systems.
Working closely with ICT teams, you will help ensure the platform remains reliable, secure, performant, and ready to support evolving business needs across the organisation.
This role suits a GIS professional who enjoys platform operations, automation, troubleshooting, and working with enterprise-scale systems, and who is looking to grow deeper into geospatial platform and cloud-based administration.
We're looking for people who have:
Essential experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Geospatial Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; or equivalent knowledge gained through experience in a GIS administration role.
* Practical experience with the administration, monitoring, and support of Esri ArcGIS Enterprise or ArcGIS Online environments.
* Knowledge of GIS data management principles and basic system administration practices.
* Experience providing technical support, troubleshooting system issues, and assisting users with access and service requests.
* Ability to follow procedures for patching, upgrades, and service deployment.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to apply guidance and resolve standard issues.
* Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise with IT staff, business users, and vendors.
* Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines, and contribute as part of a team.
Highly Regarded
* Experience supporting or managing an ArcGIS Utility Network in an enterprise or operational environment
* Experience in the administration and support of the FME platform (FME Flow and FME Form), including automation, troubleshooting, and upgrade management
