Makers in Common is recruiting a Head of Hospitality to lead the hospitality stream across Bread in Common, Coogee Common, Ode to Sirens, Owston Hotel, and the P&O Hotel redevelopment. This is a senior leadership role focused on building strong leaders, setting standards, and driving consistent performance across multiple sites, with a strong emphasis on food and beverage operations.
Purpose of the role
Provide overall leadership for hospitality operations across a multi-venue group
Build a high-performing leadership layer and consistent service culture
Lead stream-wide standards, systems and governance, and support operational readiness across the group (including hotel operations)
Key responsibilities
Own the group’s service and hospitality standards, and ensure they are implemented consistently across all venues
Lead, coach, and performance manage venue leaders
Drive food and beverage service performance: guest experience, service, team standards, and daily execution
Provide hospitality leadership input into the P&O phased redevelopment, including readiness planning, change management, and operational decision-making
Partner with venue leaders on commercial performance drivers (labour, COGS, wage efficiency, service productivity, and guest feedback)
What we’re looking for
Senior hospitality leader with demonstrated multi-site experience (restaurant and bar environment essential)
Strong food and beverage expertise: service delivery, floor leadership, standards, and operational discipline
Strong leadership presence: calm, clear, direct communicator; builds trust; holds people to account
Demonstrated cultural leadership: develops managers, improves retention, strengthens team stability
Structured and commercially aware: understands performance drivers and can run a consistent leadership rhythm
Experience working alongside (or supporting) hotel operations is well regarded
