Oxi Tea Room is a modern, design-led high tea destination known for refined pastries and contemporary dessert execution. We are currently seeking a reliable and committed Commis Chef to join our kitchen team.

The Role:
As a Commis Chef, you will work closely with our Head Pastry Chef and kitchen team to support daily pastry production and service. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in consistency, organisation, and professional growth.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with our Head Chefs to create and execute innovative high tea menus and à la carte dessert offerings.
* Assist in the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency and attention to detail.
* Contribute creative ideas to continuously enhance our menu offerings and surprise our guests with new culinary delights.
* Help maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
* Support the kitchen team in various tasks to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
* Provide exceptional customer service and uphold our commitment to delivering unforgettable dining experiences.
Requirements:
* Previous experience (at least 1 year) in a professional kitchen environment, with a focus on pastry and dessert or savory preparation.
* A passion for culinary innovation and a keen eye for detail in both presentation and taste.
* Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Flexibility to work mornings/afternoons, weekends, and holidays as required by our business needs.
* Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
* Commitment to stable, long-term employment.
* Must have at least 2 years of eligibility to work in Australia.
* Relevant culinary qualifications are advantageous.
