People Manager is a critical strategic partner to the business, operating within Qantas' recently enhanced People operating model that has significantly lifted capability, influence and the level of work delivered by our business partnering team. This role offers the opportunity to shape and embed people strategies that directly support Qantas' growth, transformation and future readiness.
Working alongside senior leaders, the People Manager leads and delivers the People plan, driving initiatives that build leadership capability, strengthen performance accountability and enable cultural change in complex, operational environments. With shared accountability for employee engagement, development and organisational effectiveness, this role partners closely with senior stakeholders across Qantas Freight & Flight Operations to build a strong, sustainable foundation for the future.
What you'll bring to the role:
* Strong HR business partnering capability with experience in an operational and industrial workforce
* Demonstrated ability to strategically partner with business in large organisation
* Proven ability managing change and building organisational capability
* Strong stakeholder management ability
* Proven ability to work in a matrixed environment with a geographically dispersed workforce
* Commercial acumen and proven ability to understand the operation
* Proven interpersonal and relationship development skills
* The ability to work autonomously whilst remaining collaborative and considered as a part of a broader team
* Strong verbal, written and presentation skills with an ability to communicate in both technical and business language
* Driven to succeed, self-motivated and able to work independently with limited direction or guidance
* Tertiary qualification in HR/Business related degree or equivalent experience required
