About the role
An opportunity currently exists for a motivated Planner Scheduler to join our Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) team at Hancock Iron Ore.
Reporting to the Superintendent Asset Management (NPI) you will play a key role in driving a disciplined and structured approach to work management across our non-processing assets and equipment. You will optimise equipment reliability and support high quality maintenance execution through accurate, forward looking planning and scheduling. With a strong focus on developing and embedding robust standards and practices, you'll help ensure our assets consistently achieve capability, reliability, and cost targets, contributing to the ongoing success of our operations.
Duties
Support a strong safety culture by following HSE requirements, managing risks, and actively identifying and reporting hazards, incidents, and near misses
Manage weekly maintenance planning cycles, ensuring new work requests are actioned promptly and converted into high‑quality, accurately planned work orders
Collaborate with supervisors and vendors to prioritise work, develop detailed work scopes, and prepare ready‑to‑execute jobs for maintenance windows
Monitor work order backlogs, review maintenance tactics, and provide feedback to asset engineers to support continuous improvement
Build and maintain accurate maintenance schedules that reflect priorities, operational constraints, labour, equipment, costs, and resource requirements
Track and analyse schedule performance and critical path progress, providing clear reporting and insights to key stakeholders
Implement and update maintenance strategies and master data in SAP in line with established processes and resourcing requirement
Skills and experience
Experience in maintenance, operations or systems positions
Experience with the operations and maintenance of NPI or fixed plant assets will be beneficial
Demonstrated aptitude for maintenance planning, scheduling, or coordination within an asset‑intensive environment
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret maintenance data and support continuous improvement
Good organisational skills with the capability to manage competing priorities within structured planning and scheduling cycles
Proficient in SAP or similar CMMS, and prior experience with planning tools and reporting systems (such as MS Project, Advanced Excel)
Collaborative with effective interpersonal and communication skills
