What you'll be doing:
This is a Monday - Friday 8hour day shift with monthly rostered days off (RDO) and overtime available
The key responsibilities of the role include:
- Setting and operating CNC lathes, producing precision components to tight tolerances.
- Supporting both non-recurring engineering (NRE) and production runs across a variety of materials.
- Assisting with basic milling work as required to support project needs.
- Conducting in-process inspections to verify that components meet all required specifications and tolerances.
- Performing routine maintenance on CNC machines
- Collaborating with colleagues across departments to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule.
- Maintaining a strong commitment to safe work practices and contributing to a culture of safety at all times.
What you bring:
Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualities, skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience setting and operating CNC lathes, with a focus on precision and quality.
- Minimum 3-5 years of CNC machining experience with demonstrated precision and quality focus.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and a sharp eye for detail.
- A genuine desire to learn and develop, supported by a positive attitude and a demonstrated ability to pick up new skills quickly.
- Ability to confidently read technical drawings and follow both written and verbal instructions.
- Transparent communication skills and the ability to work independently while meeting deadlines.
- Solid mechanical aptitude and a practical, hands‑on approach to challenges.
- Trade qualification (certificate/apprenticeship) is preferred but we remain versatile for the right candidate with relevant experience.
Desirable but not essential:
- Exposure to CAD/CAM (Mastercam preferred)
- Familiarity with tooling and fixture design.
- Exposure to 4 & 5 axis machining
- Understanding of GD&T; principles.
- Experience with aerospace components or tight‑tolerance machining.
- Robust understanding of CNC programming fundamentals.
