Role Overview
The Dental Assistant role supports the delivery of safe clinical care and procedures, contributes to patient care goals, and assists in maintaining a safe and organized treatment environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chair‐side assistance for dental professionals, including use of suction, passing instruments, and materials, mixing techniques, and assisting with x‐ray procedures.
- Clean and prepare treatment rooms, dental instruments, and equipment in accordance with infection control standards and BDC procedures.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies adhere to infection control standards, including sterilisation and processing of dental equipment.
- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies, and procedures to ensure high‐quality, safe services.
- Work with a medium level of accountability or discretion as required by the role.
- Assist with appointment management: booking, cancellation, rebooking, and confirmation of appointments.
Application Support
Reception and Administration training will be provided to the successful candidate.
Required Skills and Experience
- No prior dental experience required.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of dental instrumentation and infection control protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
