Senior Asset Services Officer (Project Manager)

* Temporary Full-Time Role up to 2 years duration
* North Coast Location – Port Macquarie
* Salary range $113, $121,845.00 p.a., plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

About School Infrastructure | Asset Management Division
School Infrastructure (SI) is delivering the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW. Our mission is to ensure every school-aged child has access to high-quality education facilities at their local public school. This includes new buildings, major upgrades, and long-term maintenance strategies.

About The Role

* Deliver major capital works and complex upgrades and renewal construction projects from early planning and design through to construction and completion, working as part of a project team and as a project lead to manage consultants, projects within the approved scope, budget and program.
* Managing planning and design phases, including project briefs, design reviews, coordination of technical and specialist consultants, and planning approval pathways.
* Preparing project documentation to support procurement, delivery, and contract administration.
* Management of procurement processes in accordance with government guidelines, tender evaluations, administering contracts, including variations, cost control, program oversight, and contractor performance.
* Running project and stakeholder meetings, preparing agendas, recording actions, and providing clear and accurate reporting.
* Managing multiple projects concurrently while maintaining strong governance, risk management, and compliance with national and departmental standards and guidelines.
* Supporting delivery in complex or time-critical environments, including large insurance projects reinstating school facilities and buildings impacted by natural disasters or other sensitive projects.

About You

* Demonstrated experience delivering major capital works or complex construction projects, including coordination of consultants and contractors.
* Strong capability in project scoping, cost estimating, and preparing documentation for procurement and delivery.
* Proven experience managing planning and design processes, including design coordination, reviews, and resolution of technical issues.
* Practical experience administering GC21 and/or MW21 contracts, including managing variations, cost, program, and contractor performance.
* Well-developed stakeholder management skills, with the ability to lead meetings, communicate clearly, and manage competing expectations.
* Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a project team.
* Proficiency in project management, procurement and reporting systems such as MS Project, MS Excel, and other procurement and project management systems.
* A sound understanding of construction standards, quality assurance, and health and safety requirements.
* Willingness to travel to schools on the North Coast to support project delivery.
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

* Current NSW Driver's License and ability to travel across the assigned Asset Management (AMU) region of Mid-North Coast of NSW
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
