Heavy Vehicle Mechanic Role Overview
The successful candidate will have experience in conducting maintenance tasks, including technical inspections and classifications.
Responsibilities include repairing or replacing worn or faulty parts by removing assemblies such as engines, transmissions, and differentials. The candidate must reassemble, test, clean, and adjust repaired or replaced parts.
Ongoing tasks also involve carrying out minor body repairs and minor trim repairs. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for testing and repairing electrical systems, including lighting, ignition, and electronic fuel injection.
A key requirement of this role is inspecting vehicles and issuing road worthiness certificates.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, applicants must hold a Cert III Heavy Vehicle Mechanic or equivalent level qualification.
Open to Light Vehicle Mechanics with demonstrated Heavy Vehicle experience, applicants must possess a current Australian State or Territory class C Driver's License.
In addition, candidates must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
