About the position
MMCNQ are seeking an experienced and strategic Safeguarding and Compliance Partner to play a pivotal role in strengthening our child safe culture and driving excellence in regulatory compliance across our Early Childhood Education and Care Services.
This is a permanent, part-time position (30 hours per week, over 4 days) within MMCNQ's growing Compliance Team.
Working closely with the Regulation and Compliance Manager and Executive Director, this pivotal role provides organisational leadership in safeguarding, statutory reporting, governance and regulatory compliance. You will play a central role in embedding child safety and wellbeing across policy, practice, professional learning and governance systems, while supporting Approved Provider obligations under the National Quality Framework.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert leadership in child protection, safeguarding and mandatory reporting obligations.
* Oversee safeguarding notifications, disclosures and reportable incidents, ensuring timely escalation and regulatory reporting.
* Lead the development and continuous improvement of safeguarding and compliance policies aligned with ECEC legislation and Child Safe standards.
* Support Services with Assessment and Rating, audits, risk management and compliance matters.
* Monitor legislative changes and strengthen internal compliance frameworks and controls.
* Manage safeguarding-related complaints and ensure effective documentation and resolution processes.
* Build strong partnerships with child and family support agencies to enhance early intervention pathways.
* Contribute to safeguarding analysis and governance reporting to Executive and Council.
About You
You are a confident and values-driven safeguarding professional with deep knowledge of the ECEC regulatory environment. You bring:
* Extensive experience in child protection and safeguarding leadership
* Strong understanding of the National Law, National Regulations and National Quality Framework
* Experience managing reportable incidents and regulatory notifications
* Sound governance, risk and compliance capability
* Exceptional communication, advisory and stakeholder engagement skills
* The ability to lead calmly and decisively in complex or sensitive situations
