The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Early Career Engineer to join our Darlinghurst team. This role is a multidisciplinary position blending Civil, Stormwater, and Process Engineering principles. You will transition from theoretical knowledge to practical application, focusing on the design, implementation, and optimization of stormwater treatment and management systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Design & Analysis: Assist in the design and modeling of stormwater management systems, including On‐Site Detention (OSD), Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), and filtration technologies.
* Process Optimisation: Apply process engineering principles to improve water quality outcomes, analyse flow data, and optimise \"Smart Stormwater\" asset performance.
* Site Investigations: Conduct field inspections to collect data on drainage issues, water flow, and asset condition.
* Technical Documentation: Prepare high‐quality technical reports, including flood mitigation studies, compliance audits, and project estimates.
* Project Collaboration: Work alongside senior engineers, contractors, and clients to implement sustainable solutions that meet strict regulatory and environmental standards.
* Asset Management: Support the scheduling of construction and maintenance for stormwater infrastructure to ensure \"whole‐of‐life\" compliance.
What We're Looking For
* Education: An Early Career professional with a Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Process/Chemical Engineering (recognised by Engineers Australia).
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential. Exposure to stormwater modelling software (e.g., MUSIC, TUFLOW, or DRAINS) is highly regarded.
* Interests: A genuine passion for water sustainability, urban resilience, and innovative treatment processes.
* Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen eye for detail and a \"quick learner\" mindset.
* Practicality: The ability to apply engineering theory to solve real‐world drainage and environmental problems.
* Working Rights: We are not in a position to offer sponsorship and hence applicants will need to have permanent Australian Working Rights.
