Overview

Sr Account Executive - Healthcare role at Summa Health (SummaCare). Hybrid work arrangement.

SummaCare is a Summa Health entity that offers health insurance in northern Ohio. Based in Akron, Ohio, SummaCare provides Medicare Advantage, individual and family, and commercial insurance plans. SummaCare has a high CMS 2025 rating and is known for customer service and member-focused care.


Responsibilities

* Prospect new accounts of all sizes and nurture relationships with consultants and brokers to increase production.
* Facilitate sale and implementation of brokered accounts; manage general agency relationships and support training and sales activities of the general agent.
* Assist in development of new product launches and RFP processes.
* Maintain a computerized database of prospects and manage an independent sales territory.
* Sell SummaCare and Apex benefit plans to prospective employer groups; establish and maintain relationships with employers, brokers, and consultants.
* Educate brokers and employers on self-funded and fully insured options; coordinate with sales teams to leverage broker-driven opportunities.
* Coordinate open enrollment presentations and distribution of enrollment materials; collaborate with Account Manager to ensure continued service after enrollment.
* Attend networking events to maximize SummaCare's exposure to employers and brokers; maintain timely communication with prospects and customers.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies; maintain confidentiality of member health and business information.
* Drive achievement of sales goals and provide market intelligence to management.


Qualifications

* Formal Education Required
Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
* Experience & Training Required
Three (3) years performing similar responsibilities, including: managing and servicing accounts within a broker agency or healthcare organization, coordinating open enrollment activities, premium/rate development, and working knowledge of insurance products and benefit plan designs.
* Essential Functions
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to establish and maintain relationships with employers, brokers, and consultants; ability to develop competitive proposals and operate in a fast-paced environment.


Compensation and Benefits

$37.40/hr - $56.11/hr. This base salary range excludes bonuses or other differentials and reflects factors such as experience and location. Summa Health offers a competitive benefits program including medical, dental, vision, life, PTO, and more.
