ABOUT THE COMPANY
This is not a normal job.
It's the rare chance to work closely with a high-integrity Founder-Investor who's operating across the sharp edge of venture capital, climate innovation, and cultural change. The work spans several companies and philanthropic initiatives, with a focus on backing bold ideas and building a more regenerative future.
The Founder runs a lean, fast-paced, and values-led ecosystem. This is not a role for someone who needs lots of structure. It's for a smart, grounded, emotionally intelligent operator who can bring order to complexity - and thrives being part of something dynamic, meaningful, and fun.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a senior operational and investment support role designed for someone who can own the day-to-day running of the founder's businesses and investment activity.
You'll sit at the centre of the organisation - keeping internal systems humming, supporting investment coordination, and ensuring strategic projects move forward.
You will not be doing personal assistant work. The founder already has a great PA who manages scheduling, logistics, and life admin. This role is about running the company and supporting the founder's strategic bandwidth - across investments, operations, and special projects.
You'll engage with startups, boards, investors and advisors, and help shape the systems that hold this work together. Over time, there is potential to grow into a General Manager or Chief of Staff position.
DUTIES
* Business Operations: Oversee systems, workflows, compliance, and reporting across multiple entities (investment firm, philanthropic foundation, etc.)
* Investment Support: Coordinate deal flow, manage tracking tools, assist with due diligence, support memo writing and performance reporting
* Governance & Compliance: Liaise with accountants, lawyers, and boards to ensure the backend of the business is structured and compliant
* Strategic Projects: Lead initiatives ranging from new venture experiments to ecosystem convening or creative launches
* Meeting Execution: Attend key meetings and own follow-through on decisions
* Stakeholder Engagement: Help manage relationships with investors, founders, board members, and philanthropic partners
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Strong experience in operations, strategy, VC/startups, investment, or professional services
* Comfortable owning complex projects with autonomy and care
* Emotionally intelligent, discreet, and naturally entrepreneurial
* Strong writing, synthesis, and reporting skills
* Confident with tools like Google Suite, Notion, Xero, CRM platforms, and AI co-pilots
* Bonus points for experience in venture capital, early-stage investing, or climate tech
BENEFITS
* Part-time or full-time (20–40 hours/week depending on the candidate)
* High-trust, low-hierarchy working style
* Mix of structured operations and creative chaos
* Remote-friendly (NZ-based), with strong preference for candidates in or near Wellington
* Potential for long-term growth into a GM or Chief of Staff role
