Position Information
Anna Bay Public School is a welcoming school on the Port Stephens peninsula, offering inclusive learning environments on spacious grounds. The school has a student population of 300, including 15% who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and comprises 12 mainstream classes, one support class, and a Schools as Community Centre (SaCC).

Extra-curricular activities, such as PSSA sports, STEM, skipping, choirs, and dance teams, enrich the student experience. We build inclusive relationships within the community through partnerships with the Parent & Citizens group, local preschools, and the Junior AECG in collaboration with the Youyoong Aboriginal Education Consultative Group. Dedicated to respecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, the school promotes cultural identity through various initiatives. Through our cultural immersion programs and quality teaching we strive to create an environment where every student feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach. In addition to the general selection criteria,
* A highly visible and inspirational leader who empowers staff and builds positive, authentic relationships with all members of the school community to strengthen a culture of continuous school improvement, embracing educational challenges and change.
* A collaborative and approachable leader with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to improve student outcomes, established in evidence-based pedagogy and curriculum knowledge within a dynamic, inclusive, and future-focused school.
* Demonstrated capacity to promote, develop, implement, and evaluate whole school wellbeing initiatives that support and meet the diverse needs of all students.
General Selection Criteria
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high-quality education
2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs
3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community
4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning
5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning
6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policy and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
ConditionsAn unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Classification Structure for Principals:
The Crown Employees (Teachers in Schools and Related Employees) Salaries and Conditions Award 2020 details the new principal classification structure based on complexity of schools which commenced in 2016. The classification and remuneration of our school principals is based on school complexity, as measured through each school’s RAM allocation. As part of the ongoing application of the new structure a review of thresholds and outcomes will occur on an annual basis. The principal classification for this school is Principal Level P2 for 2025 and Principal Level P2 for 2026.
