This is an entry level position ideal for students with access to a vehicle and confident in driving. Or may be suitable for existing delivery drivers (Amazon, Uber Eats, etc) who enjoy driving long distances.
The Pointer People are looking for a reliable independent contractor to join our team to manage the removal and collection of real estate pointer board signs at the end of property sales campaigns. These boards are small and lightweight so any car is suitable.
Once a week you will be given a list of locations throughout Melbourne Eastern and Inner South East suburbs where signs are to be removed. You will have 5-6 days to drive around and remove signs at each location. You can choose the days and hours when to work and can plan the sequence and grouping of suburbs to maximise your efficiency. Workload will vary from week to week, typically between 8-15 hours of work per week. You can do a few hours per day or a full day depending on what works for you.
Our Eastern suburbs territory includes all suburbs inside the area contained from Richmond-Croydon-Glen Waverley-Bentleigh East-St Kilda-Richmond but occasionally may require suburbs outside of this.
You will be required to use an app to plan your route, record outcomes at each stop including taking a photo. If a sign is present, remove the sign and clean the board with a wipedown, and leave a Thank You card in the letterbox of the property from which the sign has been removed. Once a week you are required to return all collected signs and materials to our warehouse located in Mount Waverley.
As a contractor you will be paid per location stop (inclusive of super). Each stop will earn you $3 and you will average 10-12 stops per hour.
Eligibility & Experience
* You must have a current drivers license and provide your own vehicle with motor insurance. Any small car is suitable as long as it is reliable and roadworthy.
* You are required to hold an ABN to provide your service as a contractor, or be prepared to obtain one if successful for this position
* You must provide your own tools. No specialised equipment is necessary. Tools include a cordless drill, scissors, a cleaning rag, and a phone to take and upload photos of locations visited
* Experience is not necessary, but you must enjoy working autonomously outdoors and spending long periods of time driving. Your familiarity with Melbourne roads and suburbs will maximise your efficiency in how many jobs/signs you are able to remove per hour
* Flexibility to also travel to and work in the Inner North suburbs is an advantage
* This role is not ideal for someone who is looking for a primary source of income / job as the volume of work is not consistent and as a contractor you are only paid for the volume that is available
* Only applicants located within the service area and happy to drive through all parts of our service area will be considered
