Role Overview:
As a Fire Alarm / Systems Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems across a variety of commercial clients. This is a hands-on role where you'll utilize your electrical expertise to ensure systems are functioning optimally, compliant with safety regulations, and ready to protect lives in the event of an emergency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Installation & Commissioning: Install fire alarm systems and associated equipment in accordance with current fire safety standards and regulations.
* Maintenance & Testing: Perform regular maintenance and testing of fire alarm systems, ensuring they meet compliance standards and operate effectively.
* Fault Diagnosis & Repairs: Identify faults or issues within fire alarm systems and promptly carry out repairs or replacements.
* System Upgrades: Upgrade and modify existing systems to ensure compliance with changing fire safety regulations.
* Documentation & Reporting: Complete detailed reports on inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs. Provide certifications for completed work.
* Client Interaction: Liaise directly with clients to discuss system requirements, provide advice on fire alarm systems, and offer excellent customer service.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all installations, repairs, and maintenance work complies with Australian fire safety and electrical standards.
Requirements:
* A current QBCC Fire Occupational license and/or Electrical Trade Certificate;
* Experience in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems preferred but not essential
* Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
* Ability to work independently, as well as part of a small close knit team.
* High attention to detail and a focus on safety and quality workmanship.
* Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
* Valid driver's license and own tools.
