Job Overview
Museums Victoria is seeking a Senior Wildlife Cell Biologist to lead our wildlife cryobanking efforts. The successful candidate will have expertise in the preparation, handling, and preservation of live cells, as well as knowledge of electronic collection management systems.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct research and gather information on cryobanking of live cells as an ex-situ conservation measure for wildlife in Victoria.
* Culture cells, cryopreserve cells, and assess their viability through laboratory work.
* Manage and register tissue samples and live cells in our collections, adhering to established guidelines and procedures.
Requirements
* Experience in cell culture, cryopreservation, and cell viability assessment.
* Knowledge of electronic collection management systems.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills.
