About Our Graduate Midwife Program
The Women's Graduate Midwife Program provides Graduate Registered Midwives with opportunities to learn and consolidate their skills across the midwifery continuum of care. Placements are for 12 months with rotations throughout the continuum, supported by a senior midwife.
Responsibilities
* Postnatal care of the woman and baby
* Birth Centre care including management of normal labour and birth, instrumental deliveries and caesarean sections
* Caring for women on the Complex Antenatal Ward
* Provide patient‐centred care, recognising normal and abnormal signs through observation, interviews and physical exams
* Communicate assessments and care plans effectively to the midwife in charge, the medical team and multidisciplinary members
* Collaborate with team members to identify care options and plans
* Appropriately assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document nursing and midwifery care
Eligibility & Qualifications
* Eligibility for AHPRA registration by February or May 2026
* Current Working with Children Check
* Eligibility to register with the Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) Allocation and Placement Service (APS)
* Strong desire to work at the Women's and contribute to our goal of creating healthier futures for women and babies
