They provide economic, technical, and regulatory consulting services for energy markets, advising on renewable energy integration, energy sector transition, competitive power markets, power system planning, power system operations, and advising private clients on investment opportunities.
The role An opportunity exists for a highly technical and motivated electrical engineer to join the dynamic and diverse Advisory team to support a growing pipeline of power system and network planning work in Australia and Asia.
The role involves undertaking detailed power system studies using PLEXOS and PSSE and related tools to support planning, operational, and investment decisions.
The position requires a strong technical capability in power system analysis, with a focus on network modelling, load flow, stability, and contingency studies.
Your work will support power system development, development of grid codes and connection standards, contributing directly to energy transition and decarbonisation objectives of Australia and other countries.Key Responsibilities Working on large-scale electricity network projects, undertaking grid analysis, power flow studies, and system modelling to support efficient and secure operation of the transmission network.Undertake power system planning studies to assess network performance, reliability, and future development needs.Conduct steady state, dynamic, and fault analysis to assess system performance.Develop and maintain detailed power system models for planning and investment assessment (e.g. PLEXOS, PSSE, PSCAD).
Analyse system constraints, generation dispatch, and network augmentations.Analyse and design network configuration, including optimal use of generation, transmission, and distribution assets.Interpret and apply technical standards, grid codes, and regulatory requirements in system planning.Key Requirements Bachelor Degree in relevant field At least three (3) years' experience in energy industry with a degree in Electrical Engineering Knowledge of power system fundamentals and hands-on experience with PLEXOS and PSSE (load flow, short circuit, dynamic simulations).
