About the Roles & Teams
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a Community Mental Health Service in one of two key locum roles. Both positions require experienced mental health professionals who are confident in acute assessment, risk management, and treatment planning in a regional healthcare setting.
Role 1: Acute Adult Mental Health (SRN 3+)
* Provide acute mental health assessments, risk evaluations, and intervention planning .
* Deliver psychiatric and consultant liaison nursing in a community setting.
* Support individuals experiencing severe mental health crises, ensuring appropriate care pathways.
* Deliver education and training sessions to enhance service capability.
Role 2: Child & Adolescent Mental Health (iCAMHS - CNS)
* Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and case management for children and adolescents with severe and enduring mental illness .
* Develop and implement evidence-based intervention plans .
* Work collaboratively with families, schools, and other health professionals to provide holistic care.
* Primarily based in Northam, with potential to work in Narrogin or Merredin depending on service needs.
* Orientation provided in Northam (1-2 weeks) for candidates new to WA Health systems.
Skills & Requirements
* Registered Nurse (AHPRA) with experience in mental health nursing.
* Expertise in acute mental health assessments, crisis intervention, and risk management .
* Experience in psychiatric liaison nursing (Acute role) OR child & adolescent case management (CAMHS role) .
* Ability to work independently and as part of a regional multidisciplinary team .
* Cultural awareness and experience working with Aboriginal communities .
* National Police Clearance, Working with Children Check & Vaccinations (or willingness to obtain).
