About the role
Automove P/L is seeking a reliable and experienced Tow Truck Driver to join our team in Healesville & the Yarra Valley on a contract basis. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely transporting mechanically disabled vehicles. Your work will play a vital part in providing our customers with a seamless and stress-free experience during a challenging time.
What you'll be doing
* Respond promptly to calls for towing assistance, assessing the situation and determining the best course of action
* Carefully load and secure vehicles onto the tow truck, ensuring they are transported without further damage
* Deliver vehicles to the appropriate destination, such as our repair facility or the customer's preferred location
* Maintain accurate records of all towing jobs, including details of the vehicle, location, and any special instructions
* Perform regular inspections and basic maintenance on the tow truck to ensure it is in safe, roadworthy condition
* Provide excellent customer service and act as a professional representative of Automove P/L
What we're looking for
* Valid driver's licence with a Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsement
* A driving record with minor offences acceptable
* Experience operating a tow truck or similar heavy vehicle
* Minimum 6 months experience in tow truck operation is required
* Experience with any heavy vehicle operation will be considered suitable
* Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor vehicle issues
* Excellent customer service skills and the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
* Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high safety standards
* Good physical fitness and the ability to perform tasks
