Your new role
As the Senior Data Engineer – Databricks / dbt Specialist, you will lead the design, build, and optimisation of core data pipelines and platform capabilities. You'll drive large‐scale DBT and databricks engineering initiatives, including 500+ model migrations and Unity Catalogue uplift. You'll also develop automation frameworks, deliver AI‐powered engineering accelerators, and embed strong governance, quality, and security practices across the data platform. Cross‐functional leadership is central to the role, working closely with engineering, analytics, and business teams.
What you'll need to succeed
* Deep hands‐on experience with Databricks, dbt, and modern cloud data architectures
* Proven capability delivering large‐scale model migrations and platform uplift programs
* Strong Python engineering skills, including automation frameworks and modular packaging
* Experience with Jinja templating, CI/CD, and automated validation/testing
* Expertise in governance and security tooling such as DQX, DiscoverX, Unity Catalog, and Terraform IaC
* Ability to lead cross‐functional initiatives and communicate effectively with technical and non‐technical stakeholders
* Experience with AI‐driven engineering tools or LLM‐based automation is highly advantageous.
