Condition Monitoring Technician

Mining & Resources | Karratha | FIFO ex Perth

Christmas Coverage | Moved to 8/6 Roster

We are currently partnering with a well‑known mining operator to recruit an experienced Condition Monitoring Technician for an ongoing contract. This is an excellent opportunity to continue your career with a respected leader in the mining sector.


Role Details

* Based in Karratha
* FIFO from Perth only
* Christmas Coverage period, moving into an 8/6 roster (Thursday-Thursday)


Key Responsibilities

* Maintain safe work practices and ensure full compliance with company policies and procedures
* Develop and maintain the condition monitoring database
* Conduct online primary inspections, including vibration analysis
* Perform equipment monitoring in line with formal inspection procedures and maintenance strategy
* Drive improvements in condition monitoring strategies and practices
* Collect and trend data to support accurate equipment life predictions
* Support asset reliability projects and undertake failure mode analysis
* Provide maintenance performance reporting against plan
* Develop and deliver PM02 planned preventative maintenance plans
* Support maintenance teams through inspection, testing, and data‑driven recommendations
* Ensure strong communication and positive engagement with key stakeholders
* Champion continuous improvement across maintenance and reliability functions
* Manage external contractors from engagement to invoicing, ensuring compliance with company policies
* Maintain a clean, organised and hazard‑free work environment
* Investigate engineering‑related incidents and implement preventative solutions
* Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including relevant Marine Acts, Mines Safety Inspection Act/Regulations, and S44 obligations


Position Requirements


Knowledge, Skills & Experience

* Minimum 5 years' fixed plant condition monitoring experience in a heavy industrial environment
* Exposure to conveyor systems and balanced machines (highly desirable)
* Working knowledge of SAP PM, including planned, scheduled, and corrective maintenance processes
* Experience with CSI Machinery Health Monitor and CSI 2140 vibration analyser


Qualifications – Essential

* Vibration Analysis Level 1 & 2 (Vibration Institute of Australia preferred)


Qualifications – Desirable

* Electrical or Mechanical Trade, or Engineering qualification
* Oil Analysis Level 1
* Thermography Level 1
* Ultrasonic Testing Level 1
* Shaft Alignment Level 1
* Dynamic Balancing Level 1


Other Requirements

* Strong commitment to health, safety and environment
* English language proficiency
* Current WA Manual Driver's Licence
* Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
