The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The Curriculum and Teaching Practice Division (CTPD) works collaboratively across the department, with schools, and with stakeholders to co-design and implement initiatives that support schools to deliver high-quality curriculum and teaching programs. CTPD has primary responsibility for the provision of advice and implementation support to government schools to deliver the Victorian Curriculum. Drawing on contemporary research and practice evidence, CPTD's work contributes to ongoing improvements in student outcomes by flexibly responding to student needs and aspirations, as well as those of school communities.
CTPD has three branches: Literacy, Languages, the Arts and Humanities; Numeracy, STEM and Digital Learning; and Teaching and Learning. Across these branches, key functions include:
* providing policies and guidance in areas such as assessment and reporting, languages education, Holocaust education, literacy instruction, mathematics and numeracy education, and artificial intelligence
* developing lesson plans, toolkits and other teaching and learning resources for classroom use
* designing and delivering high-quality professional learning in key curriculum areas
* developing and managing the Arc Platform and implementing high-quality teaching and learning software
* fostering student, family and community engagement through programs like the Premiers' Reading Challenge, Books in Prep Bags, and community language schools.
About the Role
An exciting ongoing, full-time opportunity exists to join the Curriculum and Teaching Practice Division as an Executive Support Officer. In this pivotal role, you will provide high-level administrative and program support to the Executive Director, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Division. You will play a key role in managing a fast-paced and varied workload, building strong stakeholder relationships, and contributing to a positive and values-driven workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
* Manage the Executive Director's diary and inbox, including scheduling meetings, booking meeting rooms and video conferencing facilities, and preparing meeting papers.
* Coordinate and track incoming and outgoing briefings and correspondence to ensure timely action and accurate record keeping.
* Provide high-quality administrative support across a range of corporate service functions.
* Liaise effectively with the Office of the Assistant Deputy Secretary and other internal and external stakeholders.
* Foster and maintain positive, professional relationships to support a collaborative team environment.
* Undertake additional duties as required by the Executive Director.

We are seeking a professional who demonstrates initiative, sound judgement, and exceptional organisational skills. You will be adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications
* Proven experience in executive support administration, preferably in a senior leadership context.
* Previous experience working within the Victorian Public Sector or another government environment will be highly regarded.
* Strong proficiency in managing confidential information, meeting deadlines, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
