RMR Service Sales Engineer (Warehousing Solutions – Australia and New Zealand)

Your Responsibilities
Delivers comprehensive life‐cycle services for customers' automated material handling systems. Revision, Modification, and Retrofit (RMR) projects are essential for maintaining optimal system performance and adapting to evolving customer requirements. As a Service Sales Engineer specializing in Warehousing Solutions, you will drive these initiatives by:
* Customer Consultation and Analysis: Engaging with a diverse portfolio of clients to identify challenges, analyse system issues, and recommend innovative and practical solutions.
* Solution Design and Presentation: Translating customer requests into conceptual layouts and technical proposals, collaborating with engineers (mechanical, electrical, controls, and process), software specialists, product experts, and supply centres to create compelling offers.
* Pricing and Alignment: Preparing detailed pricing, cost estimates, and project plans while coordinating with internal stakeholders (e.g., Pricing, Procurement, Planning, and Engineering) to ensure feasibility and alignment.
* Sales Strategy and Pursuit: Contributing to service sales with the contract managers, defining opportunity strategies that align with life cycle plans, and presenting solutions to secure commitments.
* Project Handover and Implementation Support: Organizing successful project kick‐offs with Service Project Managers, developing life‐cycle plans, and occasionally managing or supervising RMR project implementations.
* Multi‐Project Management: Handling multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast‐paced environment, including developing and executing plans for implementation, testing, and deployment.
This role demands close collaboration with site teams, customers, and global experts to deliver value‐added services that optimise warehouse automation for retail leaders. You will be supported by a large global organisation of Service engineers based in the Netherlands and a strong local organisation.
Your Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this position, you should bring:
* A technical bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
* At least 5 years of experience in sales engineering, with a preference for brownfield projects (upgrades to existing systems).
* Strong analytical skills to structure and solve logistical problems both practically and analytically.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both verbal and written, in English.
* An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to anticipate and mitigate project risks while addressing issues in real‐world settings.
* A collaborative approach, enthusiastic about working in multidisciplinary, international teams and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
* A customer‐centric focus ("service blood") and the persuasion skills to influence stakeholders effectively.
* Proficiency in initiating continuous improvements related to technical solutions.
* Experience developing and executing implementation, testing, and deployment plans.
* Willingness to travel up to 5% internationally and 30% locally/interstate within Australia and New Zambia.
