Dementia Australia is the national peak body for people of all ages living with dementia, their families, and Carers. We provide advocacy, support, education and info.
We're seeking friendly, upbeat volunteers to help brighten the days of our clients, who are independent and actively engaged in our semi‑supported social programs. If you enjoy sharing conversation, companionship, and laughter, this is a great chance to give back and be part of something special.
What you might do
* Join in group activities & social experiences
* Offer gentle one‑on‑one support under staff guidance
* Help at Memory Lane Café sessions by welcoming guests, assisting with sign‑in, making tea & coffee, and setting up the space
* Assist guests, relieve stress, and support practical tasks such as set‑up and welcoming guests
Qualifications
* Be over the age of 18
* Undergo an interview
* Reference & police checks (at Dementia Australia's cost)
* Participate in induction & orientation sessions
* Complete eLearning training
* Commit to ongoing training
