What You'll Be Doing
The Sterilisation Technician is primarily responsible for the preparation, sterilisation, storage and thermal disinfection of reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment to prevent infection, working within a large team under routine supervision.
Selection Criteria
* Completion of a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services at TAFE, or equivalent (enables appointment to Grade 2) or working towards completion to enable Grade 1, with move to Grade 2 on completion
* Physically capable of duties including standing for long periods, lifting, pushing and pulling loads
* Demonstrated interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to follow directions from line management and senior staff and work independently under routine supervision
* Ability to relate well to others and work effectively as part of a team
* Ability to apply a problem-solving approach to work tasks
Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination
This is a Category A position. All new employees must comply with NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015 and provide proof of vaccination against influenza where applicable (for roles in NSW Health RACFs or facilities).
