Full-timefixed-termpositionthrough to December **** Base salary will be inthe range$104,****** - $111,******+ 17% Superannuation(Academic LevelA) This role offers hands-on fieldwork and meaningful community engagement with clear real-world impact Based atthe Child Health Research Centre, South Brisbane About This Opportunity The Children's Health and Environment Program investigates how environmental exposures affect child health, with a strong focus on real-world, community-based research.
The program works across established cohorts and new field studies, combining environmental epidemiology with extensive fieldwork, community engagement, and translation to support communities during environmental health events.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Environmental Epidemiology team and build theirexpertiseinair pollution epidemiology andenvironmental healthwithin a supportive, hands-on research environment.
The role is particularly suited to a recent PhD graduate who is keen to develop an emerging research profile while working closely with communities, frontline stakeholders, and experienced researchers.
Key responsibilities will include: Research: Develop an emerging research profile in environmental health, contribute to high-quality research outputs through publications and presentations,participatein fieldwork and community engagement activities, collaborate on research projects and funding applications, apply best-practice research methodologies, and support research translation to end users.
Supervision and Researcher Development: Contribute to the supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students, supervise research support staff asappropriate, provide guidance and mentoring, and work effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
Citizenship and Service: Demonstratebehaviours aligned with UQ values, activelyparticipatein unit priorities and internal service roles, support colleagues and unit operations asrequired, contribute to committees and administrative processes, and build relationships with external partners including industry,governmentand community stakeholders.

About You Completion of a PhD in environmental health, epidemiology, publichealthor a related field.
Demonstrated experience engaging with people in research settings, including conducting fieldwork, community-based studies, or participant recruitment and management.
Experience in designing and implementing high-quality data collection protocols, ensuring data integrity throughcleaningand performing robust analyses.
Demonstrated experience and competence using R for data analysis.
Evidence of publications in reputed refereed journals and presenting at conferences.
Access to a car you can use for work purposes and a valid QLDdriverslicense.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The candidate should be able todemonstrateattention to detail,high levelof accuracy, and ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Blue Card for working with children.
Highly Desired: Experience with geographic information systems.
