Family Support Worker - 6 month Contract Part Time 22.5hrs pw - Immediate Start
Community Gro Inc. is seeking a passionate and innovative Family Support Worker working across our Community Connect Program and Family Support Hub.
Family Support Workers work with individuals and families and to achieve
* Increased parents'/carers' awareness of and engagement with their child/children's learning, wellbeing and development
* Increased parental capabilities and confidence in parenting and parenting self-efficacy;
* Improvement in the rate of children developmentally on track;
* Increased community connection and families, parents, children accessing the right services at the right time
* Increased local access to a range of family and early years programs that reflect the current context of Queensland families and are available in a range of formats to support differing needs and requirements.
* Through assessment and case coordination, facilitate access of Community Connect service users to services and support according to the established service model.
* Develop close working relationships and networks with local and specialist services across the region for referrals, support and assistance to individuals and families.
* Follow established procedures to manage referral processes to ensure support is provided outside of the program if required
* Utilise specialist knowledge and provide intensive support to service users experiencing vulnerabilities and complex needs.
* Collect, record and maintain data in the specified format.

Mandatory Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in community services, community development, governance, social work, public health, or education.
* Understanding of family services, children's services, funding, gaps in current service delivery environment and general needs within the community.
* Existing relationships with a range of stakeholders in the local and regional area.
* Must have a Working with Children (Blue Card) or ability to acquire one.
* Must have a 'C' class driver's license.
