The key duties of the position include The Role Defence Export Controls Branch (DEC) is the Commonwealth regulator responsible for the movement of Defence-related goods, technology and services both within and outside Australia. DEC supports stakeholders from government, industry, higher education and research sectors, and private individuals to meet their obligations under Australia's export control laws. As an APS 6 Outreach Officer you will work in the Engagement and Support Directorate within Defence Export Controls Branch (DEC). DEC plays a key role in protecting Defence capability by contributing to Australia's counter-proliferation efforts and supporting Australian industry through the timely consideration of export permits. The right person for this role will be a confident communicator, with an ability to build and sustain stakeholder relationships. About our Team The Customer Service Support Team (CSS) play a critical role in supporting the Defence Export Controls Branch and our industry partners in submitting export applications, navigating the export control framework and liaising with other teams to give timely guidance on a wide range of enquires from Industry, Academia and the general public. Support is provided via a general enquiries in box, and phone. CSS work closely with the other teams in the Engagement and Support Directorate to achieve business outcomes for the Defence Export Controls Branch and Defence Trade, Regulation and Industrial Collaboration Division.
