HR Business Partner – Strategic Talent Leader for the Defence Industry
Remote (15% travel, Australia, New Zealand & Singapore)
Are you a seasoned HR professional with a passion for partnering strategically within the defence sector? We're seeking an HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving talent strategies that support transformation and operational excellence in a global, multi‐national defence environment.
In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, building strong partnerships that align people initiatives with complex business goals. Your expertise will guide organization design, change management, and talent development—all critical as we navigate growth, acquisitions, and innovation in the defence industry.
What You'll Do
* Collaborate closely with defence business leaders to deliver tailored people management strategies that align with mission‐critical objectives.
* Build deep business acumen and relationships across functions to influence culture, employee engagement, and organizational agility.
* Lead transformational initiatives including restructuring, workforce planning, and succession in a highly regulated and fast‐evolving environment.
* Partner with HR Centres of Excellence to implement robust, compliant HR solutions globally.
* Use data insights to drive strategic workforce decisions and continuous improvement.
* Coach and mentor managers on performance management, employee relations, and compliance within the defence context.
* Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion aligned with defence industry standards and internal mobility goals.
What You Bring
* Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years of HR experience; HR certification (PHR, SHRM, CIPD, or similar) preferred.
* HR expertise across compensation, organizational design, employee relations, performance management, and Australian employment law. Knowledge of employee relations processes and laws in New Zealand and Singapore a plus.
* Experience working in or with the defence industry is highly desirable; multinational defence business experience is a plus.
* Proven track record managing change programmes and employee relations within regulated environments.
* Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
* Comfortable working remotely with global teams and willing to travel (~15%) within Australia and to New Zealand and Singapore.
* Familiarity with Workday and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
