V.V.A Engineering is a leading engineering firm based in Gympie servicing a wide range of industries, from small local manufacturers to large multi-national companies in the timber, food and mining industries.
We are currently requiring a draftsman/estimator.The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings and accurate cost estimates to support project planning, fabrication, and delivery. This role requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
· Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
· Develop fabrication and assembly drawings according to engineering specifications
· Prepare accurate material take-offs, cost estimates, and project quotations
· Review engineering designs and specifications for accuracy and feasibility
· Work closely with engineers and production teams to ensure design intent is achieved
· Maintain document control and update drawings as required throughout project stages
· Assist with design improvements and value-engineering initiatives
Requirements
· Qualified with a minimum of 4 years' experience
· Proven experience as a Draftsman, CAD Technician, or Estimator in the engineering or manufacturing industry
· Proficiency in AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (required)
· Strong understanding of engineering principles, fabrication processes, and materials
· Excellent analytical and mathematical skills for estimating
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
· Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team environment
· Knowledge of and adhere to WHS Principles
· Must maintain excellent hygiene as V.V.A Engineering in involved in the food industry.
