**ABOUT THE POSITION.**
Work 37.5 hours a week in a 5 month contract, with potential for extension. As a Animal Services Officer you will draft reports and correspondence, clean animal collection vehicles, trailers, kennels and equipment as directed and maintain to a satisfactory condition at all times, seize and or impound companion animals in compliance with legislative requirements and Council's policies and procedures.
**DUTIES.**
- Ensure animals collected, received and housed at the Animal Holding Facility are treated humanely
- Liaise with NSW Police and attend/represent Council in Court
- Educate animal owners on provisions of legislation
- Seize and or impound companion animals in compliance with legislative requirements
**SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.**
- Relevant qualifications in Animal Management or similar regulatory environment
- Previous experience handing companion animals
- Current NSW Class C Drivers License
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
