The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Urban Designer with drive and creativity to join our Urban Design and Placemaking Team. With a focus on creating great places for the community, the Senior Urban Designer will undertake a broad range of urban design and placemaking projects across established, growth, and rural areas. Projects include strategic visioning, precinct planning, supporting capital projects, site development, improving activity centres and neighbourhoods. Responsibilities also include preparing development designs, feasibility and budgeting assessments, masterplans, guidelines, and providing advice on planning applications and policy. The Senior Urban Designer will collaborate internally and externally to improve design quality across the city.
About You
We are looking for a passionate and collaborative Senior Urban Designer with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Urban Design or related fields. You should be able to think strategically while understanding detailed design and implementation. Experience with site development masterplanning and development feasibility processes will be highly valued. A commitment to design excellence and the ability to navigate competing interests to realize the Council's vision for our community are essential.
