Duties and responsibilities
Assist with preparation and lodgement of the department's annual FBT return including:
Benefit data quality assurance, developing and maintaining excel worksheets, and collating supporting documentation
Assist with preparation and lodgement of the monthly Business Activity Statement for the department and National Emergency Management Agency and lodgement with the Australian Taxation Office
Research and provide advice on Goods and Services Tax (GST), Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT)
Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) and detailed analysis of GST transactions
Reconcile tax related general ledger accounts and prepare FBT and GST journals
Additional information
The following will be highly regarded:
A tertiary qualification in Business/Commerce or Law or equivalent
Demonstrated knowledge of FBT requirements for large employers
Demonstrated tax experience

Eligibility
To be eligible for the position you must be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (AGSVA) security clearance, and:
ABF Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC).
Home Affairs Workers will also be required to obtain and maintain an Onboarding Check.
In certain circumstances, an Employment Suitability Clearance (ESC) may be required in addition to, or in lieu of, an Onboarding Check, which will be determined by the delegate as necessary.
