Manage complex industrial relations, build policy frameworks, and guide workforce strategy in a leading health district.
Employment Type: Temporary Full Time (04/05/2026 to 30/04/2027) (Maternity Relief)
Position Classification: Health Manager Level 4
Remuneration: $74.46 - $88.72 per hour
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)
Location: Cumberland Hospital – North Parramatta, with flexible working arrangements available

What you'll be doing
As Senior IR/ER Specialist, you will provide strategic industrial relations advice and drive initiatives that strengthen employee engagement and workplace compliance across WSLHD. You will act as a trusted advisor and negotiator on employment matters while shaping the organisation's industrial relations capability.
* Lead complex consultation, negotiation, and dispute resolution with employees, unions, and representative groups
* Develop, implement, and maintain IR strategy, policies, and procedures aligned with legislative and Award requirements
* Provide expert advice to the Director Workforce, Chief Executive, and Executive Leadership team on critical workforce matters
* Represent WSLHD in tribunals, courts, and commissions alongside legal counsel
* Build organisational capability by guiding managers and HR teams in effective workplace relations practices

How to Apply
Apply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.
* Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Industrial Relations, Employment Law, Human Resources Management, or equivalent or extensive high-level experience in managing industrial employment matters in a large diverse service industry organisation.
* Experience in providing high quality strategic employment relations advice together with demonstrated ability to manage industrial matters including negotiations with industrial associations, advocacy experience, Award and legislation interpretation and application
* Sound knowledge of the NSW Industrial Relations system, and demonstrated experience in presenting matters before the NSW Industrial Relations Commission and Statutory bodies including preparing and presenting matters before tribunals and industrial associations
* Demonstrated experience in managing workplace disputes, grievances and conducting investigations
* Proven experience in leading employment and or industrial negotiations as well as providing sound advice on related matters
* High level communication, interpersonal, sound analytical and problem solving skills, including demonstrated ability to represent or advocate complex issues on behalf of the WSLHD before relevant statutory tribunals
* Strong conceptual and problem solving skills, including an ability to respond creatively to issues raised, providing alternate acceptable solutions
